- 600 Classic lay-down — our dependable, popular classic.
- Fresh tubes — beds are re-tubed regularly so every session stays consistent.

First time?
How a first visit works.
- Walk in any time we're open — no appointment needed.
- We check your skin type with you and recommend the number of minutes that suits it.
- Start short and build up gradually, leaving time between sessions.
- Goggles are provided every time — please always wear them.
You must be 18 or over to use a sunbed — it's the law, and we may ask for photo ID.
Before you use a sunbed
UV exposure from sunbeds, like the sun, carries risks including skin damage and skin cancer. We'll talk this through with you before your first session. Using a sunbed is not recommended if you:
- are under 18
- have fair skin that burns easily or doesn't tan, or have red hair and freckles
- have lots of moles, or a personal or family history of skin cancer
- have had sunburn in the last 48 hours
- are taking medication that makes skin more sensitive to light — please tell us about any medication
Come with clean skin, free of make-up, perfume and moisturiser, and always wear the goggles provided.

Good to know
Sunbeds — your questions.
Do I need to book a sunbed?
No. Sunbeds at Solaris are walk-in only — just come to 3 Crown Bank in Hanley whenever we're open (Monday to Friday 10:00–18:00, Saturday 10:00–15:00).
How long should my first sunbed session be?
Shorter than you might think. It depends on your skin type, which we'll assess with you when you arrive, then recommend a number of minutes and help you build up gradually with time between sessions.
What's the difference between a lay-down and a stand-up sunbed?
On a lay-down bed you lie back for your session. A stand-up booth is an upright session with no contact points against the tubes. We have both, and we're happy to help you choose.
Do I need to be 18 to use a sunbed?
Yes. It's against the law for anyone under 18 to use a sunbed in England, and we may ask for photo ID.
Do you provide goggles?
Yes, goggles are provided for every session and you should always wear them.
Can I use a sunbed if I'm on medication?
Some medicines make skin more sensitive to UV light. Please tell us about any medication before your session, and check with your pharmacist or GP if you're unsure.
